Pomeranian Dog “The Toy dog”

According to the Pomeranian Dog history the Pomeranian belongs to Pomerania. It was from Pomerania that it got its name. It was got from the old Spitz breed. The actual Pomeranian dogs were much bigger and weighed about 30 pounds and were used as sheep herders.  It was Queen Victoria who made them smaller in size by breeding them thus making them famous in Britain.

The Pomeranian dog is a small dog that looks like a toy. The head is shaped like a wedge and is in proportion to the body. It has a short muzzle which is short and fine. The nose color depends upon the coats color. They have medium sized eyes which are dark shaped like almonds. They have small ears which are erect and feathered tail. The Pomeranian dogs have double coat that is thick. The coat from outside is rough when felt whereas the inner coat is smooth as well as dense and not very long. The Pomeranian dogs have a coat that is long around the chest and neck areas. The coat of the Pomeranian dog comes in various colors.

The Pomeranian dog characteristics include that it is a pompous, energetic little dog. It is very clever, eager to learn and very faithful to the person who handles him or his family. The Pomeranian dog is a wonderful escort and show dog. The Pomeranian dog has a very submissive as well as loving nature which is the reason they are the most liked breed. They are also very vigilant, inquisitive and full of life. The Pomeranians dogs are very selective eaters.  

The Pomeranian Dog adoption is good for people who live in apartments as they are very energetic in the house and do not need a yard. Pomeranian dog training should be given by a handler who is calm and confident and gives the dog rules to follow and gives instructions as to what he is expected to do and what he should not do. 

The Pomeranian dog health problems include problems of the heart problems, infections that harm eyes, allergies of the skin and early loss of tooth due to decay. They are also prone to dislocation of the knee cap and slipped stifle. It is suggested that they be given food for the dog or crispy bones made out of milk everyday in order to maintain healthy gums as well as teeth.  

Baby Pomeranian dog puppies are very small and delicate. They are so tiny that three newborn puppies fit in ones palms. Cesarean is required when the Pomeranian dog gives birth to puppies. As the Pomeranian dog becomes aged it loses hair and gets become molted with hairless spots

The number of years that a Pomeranian may live is about 15 years. The Pomeranians need to be taken for walks daily. When permitted to play it works as an exercise for them.
