According to the French bulldog history it holds its origin to the nineteenth century in Nottingham, England, when the Lace makers resolved to make a type of bulldog which would fit in the lap which was small and of miniature size and was known as the “toy” bulldogs. During the Industrial Revolution in 1860′s when the craftsmen were driven away they carried the dogs along with themselves. Thus the bulldogs which looked like toys became very famous in the French cities.
 
The French Bulldog characteristics include it is a well-built, compact, sturdy little dog, that has a large head which looks like a square and the forehead is round. The nose of the French bulldog is generally black. The upper lips of the French bulldog hang over the lips of the lower side. The lower jaw of the French bulldog appears like a square and is deep. It has dark round outstanding eyes. The ears are triangular in shape with the tips being rounded and the tail can be flat or coiled. The French bulldog has a broad chest and the color of the coat may be of varied combinations.

The other French Bulldog information’s include they need to be taken for walks daily. The Energy level of the dog varies from one another. They love to play and can for a very long time if allowed. The height of the French bulldog is about 12 inches. The weight of the French Bull dog comes under two categories; one is about 10-22 pounds while the other is 12-28 pounds. The longevity of the French bulldog is about ten to twelve years.. They need very little grooming and just brushing them regularly will suffice. The French bulldog is known to be an average breeder. They are very hygienic and don’t like to mess around puddles. They should not be left alone around water as most of them cannot swim.

The French bulldog training needs to be done by someone who is very calm yet firm as well as patient and consistent. When they do things they are not supposed to do they should be corrected sternly with an air of authority as if they sense the trainer or owner to be passive or meek they do not listen to them.

French Bulldogs health problems include they may have diseases related to the joints, heart defects, spinal disorders and eye problems. As the French bulldog puppies have somewhat large heads cesarean needs to be done for their birth. The French bulldog often suffers from respiratory problems. They cannot tolerate hot weather often get heat strokes. They also often snore and wheeze. The French bulldog should not be over fed.

French Bulldogs adoption is not for people who cannot give time and energy as they are not the type of dog who can be just got and ignored. The cost of maintenance of a French bulldog is very high. The French Bull Dog is excellent for living in apartments. They are quite active at home and do not require a yard. The French Bulldogs are very sensitive to extreme temperatures.

The French Bulldog puppies it are very playful, vigilant, full of life, enthusiastic and loving. They are also very curious, sweet and utterly amusing and  easy to be cared for.
