Amongst all the breeds of dogs that have been ranked according to the American Kennel Club the Labrador retriever dogs is the most popular. A Labrador retriever is a breed which is medium sized and is well known for its very nice temperament. It is suitable for working as a hunter as well as it also serves as a good companion when kept with family in homes.

The Labrador retriever is a dog which is very extrovert in nature, sociable, friendly, and a dog which easily adapts itself according to the environment in which it is. According to the Labrador retriever history it is a breed that can easily be trained. Training Labrador Retrievers is not a difficult task as the Labrador was basically bred for recovery of game   and so it’s seen that the Labrador loves swimming and playing outdoors. One of the favorite games that a Labrador likes is fetch. Labrador retriever puppies are full of energy that it can play and work for many hours at a stretch. Thus we can say that a Labrador Retriever does not get tired very easily and a great friend for someone who is an active person.

The coat that covers its body a Labrador is not long but dense and it is also weather resistant. Labradors Retrievers are usually yellow or golden, brown or black in color. So it can be said that when a Labrador Retriever wags it tail it can pose risk to the drinks that have been kept in the coffee table as they are as high as a coffee table when standing.

When they are taken for walks to the nearby parks without their leashes it was evident from their behavior that they are very fond of swimming. They have spark in their eyes when seeing the ducks swimming in the nearby ponds or creeks which is enough to explain how much they love to swim. They often literally jump into the water and have fun and the way they play in the water explains how happy they are.

A Labrador retriever needs a well balanced diet and lots of regular exercise. Despite all the care the Labrador retriever health problems do crop up like Hip Dysphasia, Arthritis, Bloat or Gastric Torsion, Epilepsy, Diabetes to name a few. One can only know why a Labrador is the most popular amongst all dogs only when they meet it personally. The Labrador retriever is such a lovely dog and needs lots of exercise so if any person is thinking in terms of Labrador retriever adoption he needs to spend a lot of time to play with it then it’s not worth the effort and also a punishment for the Labrador.
