According to the Miniature Schnauzer history it is a breed that belongs to Germany. The Miniature Schnauzers were got by getting inter breeding done between two three breeds of dogs. The word Schnauzer was got from “Schnauze”, which in German means “muzzle”. It is generally used as a companion dog these days.
The Miniature Schnauzer characteristics include it is a tiny, solidly built small dog. It has a body that is square and the head is strong and rectangular in shape. It has a black nose and small eyes that are dark brown and the tail as well as the ears are cropped. The coat of the Mini Schnauzer is double. The inner coat is smooth and the coat on the outer side is wiry. The coat’s color is generally black, white, black and silver and salt and pepper.

The Miniature Schnauzer health problems include diabetes, skin disorders, kidney stones, von Wille brand’s disease and cysts etc. They also have hereditary eye problems. As they have the tendency to gain weight very easily they should not be over fed. They should be trained properly to socialize other wise they may be a victim of a human induced disease known as the “small dog syndrome”
The Miniature Schnauzer adoption is a good choice as this dog is suitable for being kept in apartments as they are calm indoors if they get ample of exercise. They are full of life little and need to be taken for long or fast walks or for jogging daily. They also love to play freely without a leash.
The number of years a Miniature Schnauzer may live is about 15 years. They show no signs of being old till very late. The height of the dog is about 12-14 inches and it may weigh about 10-15 pounds.
