According to the Rottweiler dog history they are possibly the descendants of the Italian Mastiff which came along with people brought by the Romans when Europe was overtaken by them. They were bred in a town in Germany from which it has got its name Rottweiler. The Rottweiler has a strongly built, huge, powerful body. It has a broad head and the forehead is rounded. It has a wide black nose, black lips, the ears are shaped like a triangle, the tail is docked and the chest is wide as well as deep. They have a coat that is stiff, dense and not very long.

They are comparatively not much active within the house so just a small yard is enough to keep them. Apart from this the Rottweiler has soft and silky as well as lustrous coat which is not difficult to handle. The hair needs to be brushed with a stiff coat brush and should be  given bath only when required.
