According to the Siberian Huskies history they served the Chukchi Tribe for ages, to pull sledges, herd reindeer and work as a guard dog. The Siberian Huskies dogs have great resistance power and are not heavy. The Huskies holds its origin to Siberia. The Huskies were  got to the largest part of the United States by traders of fur as they are very swift. They were recognized by the American Kennel Club as a breed in 1930. 

Siberian Huskies characteristics include they are physically powerful, compact, working sledge dogs. They have medium sized head and body which are proportionate to each other. The nose color is dependent on the dogs coat’s color. The coat comes in many different colors. The eyes of the Huskies are medium sized and oval in shape. The huskies have ears that are erect and triangular in shape. The coat of the Huskies is double and medium in length, and can survive in extremely low temperatures. 

The Huskies if raised with other dogs and pets of the house from the time they are puppies adjust very well with them. The Siberian Huskies puppies are very energetic and are very excellent with family and elderly people. They cannot be good watch dogs as they are friendly with strangers and bark less. They are very loving to everyone. Siberian Huskies training can be done without any hassle as they are very intelligent .The trainer needs to be strong headed, confident, firm  as well as consistent if it wants the huskies to follow its instructions. Giving training to the Huskies require a lot of patience, understanding as well as consistency and understanding of the character of the Artic dog. .The  Siberian huskies adoption is only for those people who have time and energy to spend with them as the Siberian Huskies are extremely affectionate, warm, gentle, playful and happy-go-lucky type of dogs who doth on their families. They are very enthusiastic, tame, social, calm and rather not very fussy type of dog. The Siberian huskies cannot live alone and like to stay in groups.  

Siberian Huskies health problems include, they are prone to dysplasia of the hips, eyes problems like cataracts, urethra dislocation, problems of the cornea. They may also have skin problem which is due to zinc deficiency and which can be cured by giving zinc supplements. 

Other Siberian Huskies dog information include the height of male Siberian Huskies dog is about 21-23.5 inches and that of a bitch is 20-22 inches. Male Siberian huskies may weigh about 45-60 pounds and a bitch may weigh 35-50 pounds The Siberian Huskies is not a dog to be kept in apartments but if trained properly and given exercise regularly they can manage in one. The Siberian Huskies are extremely energetic at home and are very happy if allowed to play in a large fenced yard. As they have a very heavy coat the dogs are comfortable in places where the weather is cool. The coat of the Siberian Huskies shed a lot two times annually. They should be groomed properly everyday that time. The life expectancy of the Siberian Huskies is about 12-15 years.
