The Portuguese water dog has straight legs and as it has webbed feet which also is of great help for the dog while it swims. The coat of the dog is single layered but very dense and its texture is wavy. The coat of the dog comes in various shades of black, brown and white.

The number of years a Portuguese water dog is expected to live is ten to fourteen years. It is very loving towards its family.
